Unfortunately, that's where many costly mistakes begin.

Many homeowners don't realize that hiring the wrong type of contractor can actually cost them more. A large company may have minimum charges that make small jobs unnecessarily expensive. A contractor with specialized equipment and overhead may not be the most economical choice for routine work. On the other hand, some projects require specialized experience, equipment, or insurance, and hiring someone who isn't properly qualified can become far more expensive in the long run.
